Jenise Patterson is Founder of ParentWatch Inc., an advocacy group that works with parents and their children to insure that their rights are protected.  Ms. Patterson has built a ParentWatch Coalition consisting of representatives from District groups and government agencies serving families and children, including the Child and Family Services Administration, Youth Services Administration/New Beginnings, Department of Mental Health, the National Council of Negro Women, Family Advocacy Support Association (FASA), Advocates for Justice for Education, Alliance of Concerned Men, Justice for D.C. Youth, Parents United and the Children’s Defense Fund.  Parent Watch helped implement the new system of care under the D.C. Department of Mental Health. Patterson is a founding community leader of the Early Childhood Innovation Network (ECIN), helping to achieve its goal of successfully reaching out to Ward 8 communities to qualitatively increase utilization of medical and psychiatric services to children, ages 5 and below, in a way that will institute much better, long-lasting health results for the very young of that ward over time.
