Arrealia Gavins, MEd, is the Director of Early Learning at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital (MGUH), ECIN Director of Early Learning, Family Wellbeing, and Co-PI of ACF Head Start University Partnership PROMISE grant exploring the individual, program, and community factors that promote the wellbeing of EHS/HS education staff. She is a child and family development specialist with expertise in early learning systems development with expertise in education, health/mental health, family engagement and policy. She has over 30 years of lived experience partnering with People of Color in diverse cultures and historically marginalized community settings nationally. A recognized expert in birth-to-three systems development, public policy, and advocacy, she is an experienced researcher and designer of a professional development series, emphasizing organizational change and the essential behaviors of highly effective early educators.
